“You know Christina Aguilera has ‘Naked Sundays’? I might have to copy her and do that also”.

The visit came less than a week after Hilton was reassigned to house arrest days after being jailed for violating parole. The 26-year-old celebrity was later ordered back to jail.

Alvina Floyd, one visitor to the at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, waited more than four hours to visit her fiance. It normally takes two hours, and Floyd, 20, blamed the Hiltons for the delay.

“I have to be at work later,” she said. “I can’t wait here all day.”

Shatani Alverson, 23, said she was hustled out of the jail’s visiting room moments after her husband walked in because of the Hiltons. She was told to come back after lunch.

Steve Whitmore, a sheriff’s spokesman, said it was routine for high-profile inmates to receive visitors during lunch, a time when the visiting room is normally cleared out and closed.

The visit came shortly after the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors ordered Sheriff Lee Baca to respond by next week to allegations of favoritism for reassigning Hilton to house arrest. At the time, Baca cited an undisclosed medical condition as the reason for making the decision.

Hilton was sent to a medical ward, where sheriff’s officials said it costs $1,109.78 a day to house a female inmate compared to $99.64 a day in the general population.

Mary Tiedeman, who regularly visits the jails as a monitor for the ACLU, said the area where Hilton was being housed was usually reserved for high-security inmates or those worse off than Hilton has appeared.

PARIS Hilton’s billionaire grandfather donated money to the election campaign of the sheriff who released the 26-year-old American hotel heiress from jail, it has been revealed.

The contribution from William Barron Hilton, 78, co-chairman of the Hilton Hotel chain, to Sheriff Lee Baca’s re-election campaign is revealed in financial records.

A friend of the Hilton family said the temporary release of the heiress last week may have been a “quid pro quo”.

“A member of her family has been a contributor to Baca’s campaign and this may have been payback time,” the friend said.

“Her entourage initially were confident she would be out of jail in a few days.”

Mr Baca, who has faced heavy criticism for attempting to overrule the judge in the case, has in the past been accused of favouritism towards the Hollywood elite.

He was the officer who failed to report actor Mel Gibson’s anti-Semitic tirade after the star was arrested for drink-driving.

Gibson had filmed television advertisements for one of Sheriff Baca’s pet causes - an education fund for policemen’s children.

Celebrities including Sylvester Stallone and Dustin Hoffman have also backed Mr Baca’s election campaigns since 1998.

A spokesman for Hilton declined to comment on the report, as did officials for the sheriff’s department.

Last Friday, Mr Baca said Hilton would serve another 18 days behind bars.

Hilton, sent to jail for violating probation in a drink-driving case, will finish her sentence in the prison medical ward where she ended up after a day of house arrest, celebrity website TMZ.com reported today.

New reports today said that Hilton’s health collapse last week was caused by dehydration.

“She didn’t eat or drink a single thing for three days because she didn’t want to use the toilet,” a source also told the New York Daily News, adding that Hilton suffered from claustrophobia and hyperventilation.

“She was absolutely terrified that one of the guards or staffers would get her with the cellphone cam and it would wind up on the Internet,” a source identified as a Hilton insider told the newspaper.

“She cried the entire time, and that wasn’t helping the dehydration,” the source told the paper.

Hilton was visited by sister Nicky Hilton and ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos today according to news reports.

“She’s being strong,” Nicky Hilton told reporters after the 30-minute visit at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility’s medical ward, according to People Magazine’ online edition.

Hilton was being given psychotropic drugs, TMZ reported on Saturday, citing law enforcement sources.

She was being held in a room by herself with a glass door guarded at all times and her psychiatrist spend all day Sunday with her, the report said.

Psychotropic medications affect a person’s emotions and behaviour and include drugs like lithium, which is taken for depression, and Valium, which eases anxiety.

Hilton, who was dragged sobbing back to jail, said being in prison was the hardest thing she had ever done, but she would not appeal her sentence.

“Today, I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge’s decision,” Hilton said in a statement, reported by the Los Angeles Times.

“Being in jail is by far the hardest thing I have ever done,” she said.

She was initally sentenced to 45 days in jail in May for violating her probation and driving on an suspended licence. That was reduced to about three weeks for good behaviour before she even started her sentence.

Her early release last Thursday, after just three days in jail, triggered a wave of outrage and an angry judge demanded she be brought back to court on Friday, when he ruled she had to go back to prison.

Images of a dishevelled, distraught Hilton, far from the cool, glamorous blonde seen gracing catwalks and red-carpet soirees, were seen around the world as she was handcuffed by police and brought before Judge Michael Sauer.

“During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to think, and I believe that I am learning and growing from this experience,” Hilton said.

Mr Baca had released Hilton. tagged her with an electronic ankle bracelet, and ordered her to serve out her sentence under house arrest for unspecified “medical reasons”.

Stunned prosecutors filed a petition in protest and on Friday Judge Sauer ordered Hilton back to jail to serve out her sentence.

Hilton apparently broke down, wailing “mum, mum, mum”, as the judge ordered her back to prison saying “the order is final and forthwith.”

In her statement, Hilton thanked her fans for their support which she said she had been reading in her cell, and took a swipe at the relentless media coverage.

“I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq and other places around the world.”

The celebrity news website TMZ.com said Hilton had been crying on the phone, complaining that she wasn’t able to sleep or eat and that her small cell was “freezing cold”.

Hilton, who is being housed in isolation for her own safety, is expected to serve up to 23 days for a probation violation stemming from an alcohol-related driving conviction.

Inmates at the jail are allowed “professional” visits from lawyers and others assisting in their legal defence during the week between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

Since Hilton can afford to pay “meeting” fees for lawyers and other professionals, she can duck the weekday loneliness other inmates feel waiting for family visits, which are allowed only on Saturdays and Sundays.

An anonymous admirer tried to send Hilton a dozen red roses and a fruit basket, but the delivery was rejected because inmates aren’t allowed to receive gifts.

Sophy has worked on Hilton’s defence in the $US10 million ($12 million) defamation suit lodged against her by actress Zeta Graff.

The UCLA clinical psychiatry professor last month penned a letter that helped persuade a judge to postpone the civil trial until August.

He described Hilton as “distraught and traumatised” due to “her fear of incarceration”.

But on Sunday night before she checked into jail, Hilton seemed calm and cheerful as she strolled the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards.

The socialite might be concerned about a staph infection outbreak at the jail that has caused an oozy rash on many inmates.

“I waited a week for some antibiotic ointment,” said Sandra Randolph, 46, who was released from the jail on Tuesday after serving 30 days on a drug charge.

The 26-year-old heiress was booked late Sunday into the Century Regional Detention Facility in an industrial area about five miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, according to the sheriff’s inmate locator Web site.

Though a judge sentenced her to 45 days behind bars, Hilton was expected to serve only 23 days because of a state law that requires shorter sentences for good behavior.

Earlier Sunday, Hilton attended the MTV Movie Awards, where she briefly spoke to reporters about her sentence.

“I am trying to be strong right now,” Hilton said. “I’m really scared but I’m ready to face my sentence.”

The 13-year-old jail has been an all-female facility since March 2006. The two-story concrete building sits in an industrial neighborhood, beside train tracks and beneath a bustling freeway.

Hilton will be housed in the facility’s “special needs” unit.

Officers arrested Hilton in Hollywood on Sept. 7. In January, she pleaded no contest to the reckless-driving charge and was sentenced to 36 months’ probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

The actress was so nervous about the steamy scenes in ‘We Own the Night’ she calmed her nerves with vodka.

She revealed: “I wasn’t comfortable at all, but they were very sweet and they poured me a vodka and orange juice and then I was fine.

“I’m very professional and I don’t usually drink on the job, but that morning I had to have something. It was my first sex scene and thank God James Gray was directing it. He did it at the end of the shoot, so it was the last day and I was really, really comfortable with James and Joaquin.”

Eva also joked that working with Joaquin was like working with a puppy. She said: “It’s kind of like working with a puppy dog or a two-year-old. When you have its attention, it’s really cute, but otherwise…

O’Donnell asked for, and received, an early exit from her contract. She was due to leave “The View” in mid-June.
